Fire School week in Grand Island

   At the time of writing this we are in Grand Island getting things set up and ready for Fire School. This is always a fun week that I look forward to. The Fire School committee does a great job and always gets a great line up of classes to fit any member regardless if you are new to the fire service or a veteran, there is something for everyone, and some valuable training to take back home to benefit everyone in your area. 

   We will also have an e-board meeting this week, as well as multiple other meetings this week. 

   Our next big event coming up will be annual conference in Dakota City in October. At this conference I will be running for president of NSVFA. I have enjoyed the time that I served as a district director, second vice president, first vice president, and, hope to continue to serve as president next year.

   Over my time on the board I have got to see some great things and benefits for us increase and hope for that to continue. With all the great people serving in all the aspects of this organization, I hope for that progression to continue. From when I started helping on the executive board, I could have never have guessed, that we would have gone through a pandemic, and got some great grants to help us out, learned a lot on all aspects of the fire service, and had a whole lot of fun the whole time. I look forward to the future and what is to come for us and those coming up.

   I just need to note on closing, we recently had numerous fires across the state. Yesterday I drove 3/4 across the state and it rained/drizzled the entire way. Things were greening up well and I hope we can get more precipitation to all areas of the state and get some relief to wildfires that have been occurring. Looking forward to seeing many of you this weekend and in the upcoming months.
