Nick Nisius has been an honorary member of the Janesville Fire Department since May of 2017. Nick is 26 and has Duchenne’s Muscular Dystrophy. Nick is a pretty popular guy and holds a special place in the hearts of the firefighters. Last year, Janesville Fire Department asked other departments in Iowa to help make a quilt from t-shirts and patches from their departments for Nick. They were overwhelmed with the response and received t-shirts and patches from as far away as Hawaii. During their annual Firefighter Santa night on Dec. 22, Janesville firefighters delivered the completed quilt to Nick.
