Spearfish rescue

On July 14 at approximately 1:45 p.m., Spearfish Fire was requested to assist Spearfish Ambulance service with transporting a patient down the 11th Hour Gulch trail in Spearfish Canyon. The patient was experiencing medical issues. Crews packaged the patient in a stokes basket and carried them back to the roadway to be evaluated by EMS. Though these trails provide incredible experiences and amazing views, they can be challenging to even experienced hikers. Use caution when hiking and be prepared with extra water and supplies, especially during the times of elevated temperatures. From the Spearfish Fire Department Facebook page.
