Midwest Firefighter

   One of my greatest joys of being in the fire service is teaching the Essentials of Firefighting class at the regional fire school held in Sioux City at Western Iowa Technical Community College.

   Greetings membership, I had the pleasure to go out to the Northwest Iowa Regional fire school. I want to say congratulations on a job well done.

   Well, I did find out that someone does read my article as I must admit I did miss getting one in last month and I was questioned by a few of the local volunteer firefighters about it.

   Not knowing what I did not know about proper response to gas leaks almost killed me and my captain.

   It may be hard to teach an old dog new tricks. But you can learn a lot of tricks from an old dog.

   The SDFA will be having a little change of operation coming soon.

   Officially it is now spring. That means warmer weather, flowers, gentle day long soaking rains, and an outlook for a beautiful summer.
